It is so easy to feel busy all the time that you lose the awareness of my presence. The activities of life are distractions that separate you from me. Everyone struggles with the priorities of what they need to get done. However, your heart loses intimacy with me every time the hectic pace of life gets in the way.
Your to-do list gets longer and longer, and you find yourself running faster and faster, trying to keep up. It is vitally important to rest in me and seek my presence to keep your sanity. Otherwise, life becomes a rat race getting the best of you. Your list seems essential, but it is a never-ending list that gets longer and longer. You discover after accomplishing one thing; there appears to be another task more important than the last one taking its place. It’s a never-ending cycle.
Your first thought should be that I can lead and guide you through each day. When you lose sight of that, you become weary and overwhelmed. The weight of the world bears down on your shoulders. (The Weight of the World) I encourage you to take time to pause and unplug from all your time-consuming devices. Don’t get all wound up in your activities of what you think you should be getting done. Be honest, much of your busyness is pointless. I don’t want you to lose touch of what I want to do in your heart. When you lose your connection with me, you lose your inward peace.
When you focus on me, it helps give you a perspective of what is going on in your life. Let my spirit lead and guide you to sort out what needs to get done. As you rest and lean on me, I will bring peace to your chaotic life. When you are feeling busy all the time, pause and let me take over your schedule. My presence can calm your mind in all the turmoil. (My Comfort)
Feeling busy all the time is not healthy. Learn to slow down. When everything in life seems to be out of sync, it is time to pause and depend on me. You will experience my comfort in the gentle hand of my loving presence.
Scripture:
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. Mark 6:31 NIV
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mathew 11:28-29 NIV
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Luke 40:28-31 NIV
