The Still Small Voice of God

Letting go of the voices in my head is the pathway to inner peace and the presence of God. Always thinking about my problems is part of the problem of comprehending the voice of God within me.

A newspaper once asked a question, “What’s wrong with the world today?” and a reply came back, “Dear Sir, I am. Yours truly, G.K. Chesterton,” Chesterton’s response declares the problem resides in you and me.

My thoughts and feelings bouncing around in my head, bombard me and keep me from being aware of God’s presence. The interior noise separates me from being able to engage and embrace the spirit of God. (Calming My Restless Mind)

God waits for me to silence my thoughts so I may commune with Him spirit to spirit. The voice of God is a voice without words. When I quiet my mind and heart, I focus on one thought of Christ living in me. I surrender and release my “self-thoughts” and dwell on “God –thoughts.” (Be Still and “Be”)

When space is made available for the thoughts of Christ in my head, I understand without words that God’s love inhabits my life. Christ is the Lord of life, and the Shekinah glory of God now possesses my heart. I contemplate as the Holy Spirit possesses me. I am one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I am aware I am in unity with God and all Creation. The love of God fills everything that is God, and I experience that hope within me without a spoken word.

Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 NIV
