As the bread of heaven, I came into the world to reveal my eternal glory. When I visit Mary and Martha’s home, Martha is distracted, preparing everything for her guests. Her effort is noteworthy as she offers her gift of hospitality to encourage others. However, she misses out on her life’s most important moment to recognize the significance of my presence and love. Like Martha, it is easy for you to absorb everything life throws at you and overlook the life-changing moments. (A Lost Soul Abandoned and Alone)

All of humanity uniquely experiences life. Some spend their entire life blind to any awareness of my existence. Others discover living in my presence wherever they are. As you listen to my voice, you can learn to stop what you’re doing and pay attention. You can focus on the person sitting right in front of you or the family member who needs your undivided devotion. (There is a Battle for Your Mind)

There are opportunities for fresh ways of experiencing life as a living and breathing human being. Martha was doing what she thought was good but was missing out on an even better life. Your identity is not in what you do or the biography of your life. You live and move, and your life being is through me. The question should not be what you should be doing but how you should be living. Learn to welcome the awareness of being in my presence. I desire a personal relationship where you trust me and enjoy my company in your life. (Practicing the Presence of God is Simple but not Easy)

Learn to practice the presence of God. That way, you will enjoy your whole life and be a blessing to others. My prayer is you learn how to be aware I am always with you to the end of the age.

Reflection: It does not surprise anyone; our minds are continually distracted each moment from the presence of God. The crucial part is we learn to return and be aware as much as possible.

Response: Breathe and center at the moment in the presence of Christ. Release and let go of every distraction into His loving arms. Enjoy His company here and now.

Scripture:  As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where Martha opened her home to them. Her sister Mary sat at Jesus feet, listening to everything He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be done. Luke 10:38 NIV
