There is a misconception in our minds that eternity is waiting for us sometime in the future. Joseph Campbell writes in the “Power of Myth,” eternity has nothing to do with time, for it is always in the present tense, and we experience it in the here and now. The stumbling block for us is our temporal minds, and our thinking cannot conceive of a timeless realm that does not exist beyond the present moment. (Worrying about the Future)

As Christians, our hope is for resurrection life beyond the grave, but it is a hope experienced not sometime in the future, but now at this very moment. There is no need to wait for Christ to give you everlasting life; it is yours now! The Kingdom of God is present and eternal within you this very instant.

Christ and everlasting life are realized today, not tomorrow or sometime later. Jesus came to give us abundant life, and that life is His life in us. Turn to God, for the Kingdom of God is here today, not sometime out in eternity.

Scripture:

2 Peter 3:8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. John 10:10 …I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness. 1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Mathew 3:2 “Turn to God and change the way you think and act, because the kingdom of heaven is near.”
