You walk in my path when you not only say you will help others, but when you put meat on the bones of your words. You deliver hope to them, which they desperately need. My heart seeks those who are forgotten and overlooked because they do nothing that impresses others to care. They are the sick, the broken, and crushed in spirit and have nothing to offer anyone but love in return.
Recall the words I spoke, as you have done it to one of the least of these, you also have done it for me. When you follow and obey me, my love will inspire you to feed the hungry and care for the hurting, and I will draw the strangers of the world to my presence because of the love and compassion you show for them.
When you give a drink of water in my name, say a kind word to someone, or encourage another, you are blessed, and your actions profoundly reveal my nature and character. There is nothing in this world like the opportunity to effect positive change in the life of others every day by serving and caring for them. Who do you know that needs an exceptional cup of water today? And add a smile to it and speak a word of blessing over them and help quench their thirst in the desert of life.
