A Beast of Burden

I came to lift the weight of the world off your shoulders. I know the weariness you feel from the craziness of life. I broke the religious chains that bind you like a beast of burden, working under a heavy load. Life is overwhelming enough without the religious baggage that weighs upon you too. When observing the sabbath to keep it holy, the religious leaders added law after law to the commandment of God. The restrictions were so severe it became impossible to have a sabbath day of rest set aside for the heartfelt worship of the Heavenly Father. Instead of following the laws of God, humanity followed its traditions. (Don’t Let Anyone Hold You Hostage)

You think your effort will please me, but I want nothing from you except your heart. The truth is your religious activities are hollow and empty substitutes for a personal relationship with me. Even though I desire that you be perfect as the heavenly Father and I are perfect, my eternal plan is for you to love me with an undivided heart.

Humanity judges on outward appearances, but because I created you, I know the inner workings of your heart on the inside. I know every secret motive and the redemptive need you have for my unconditional love in your life. I came to free you from the bondage of religious rules which appear spiritual but hamper any spiritual vitality. (Don’t Judge Yourself too Harshly))

I am the eternal Son who came down to set the captives free from the inward prisons of their minds. My love and forgiveness change a person’s life from the inside out. I offer you my heart and my life. All I ask in return is your heart for mine. When you give your heart, in return, I will provide you with inward peace and rest. You no longer need to live under a beast of burden, feeling weighted down and separated from my resurrection power and glory.

Scripture:

Jesus replied, “And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them. Luke 11:46 NIV

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28–30 NIV
