Feeling Left Out

There is a deep wound you suffer throughout life. It is the conscious awareness of feeling left out, and it strikes at the heart of your being. You imagine your friends are rushing to a party, but you never are sent an invitation. You wonder about the reasons why they exclude you. It feels like your life does not matter. In your down moments, you assume that nobody cares about you, not even God. (When you Feel Unwanted and Unloved)

As the Son of God, I understand the rejection you feel when you do everything in your power to fit in. When family and friends deny your personhood, I experienced it firsthand too. I know the devastation of being left out and rejected when they questioned, can anything good come out of Nazareth? My family doubted my identity as the Son of Man.

My love for you never depends on how you look or dress. It has nothing to do with your social status or achievements. I came, so you might believe I created you with infinite worth, whether your feeling left out or not. I suffered and died so that no one should ever feel left out again. (I Will Be Your Defender)

Reflection/Response: Everyone feels left out from time to time; however, it is generally a small part of your life. When you feel left out, go and find someone to love and encourage.

Scripture: Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. John 1:46 NIV

For even his own brothers did not believe in him. John 7:5 NIV
