Abide in Me

Seek contentment and happiness in my presence because the more you crave the allure of the world, the more you distance yourself from the center of my being and love. You drift from my presence when you focus on the things you desire and admire in the world. When you lose sight of me, you lose the awareness of your true identity of being united with me.

So, be on your guard, don’t let the trappings and perplexities of the world enslave you and distort my likeness and image in you. It is tempting to play God with your life. Your life revolves around the lies you hear, trying to answer the questions about the fear of death and how to heal the brokenness you feel in your heart. (The Desire of the Ages)

Remember, it is when you lose sight of my will and presence that everything unravels around you. When you live, unaware of my love and spirit, problems occur between you and others. I am the one who restores and brings unity and peace as you obey and trust my will for your life. I know this world is full of enticing distractions, but I encourage you to experience moment by moment the promise of my presence alive in you. Abide in me, and I will fill you with inexpressible joy and peace the world cannot give. (Just Come Home)

Scripture:

“Abide in me, and I will abide in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.” John 15:4 ISV

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.” 1 Peter 1:8 NIV
