In your heart, I know you understand what I desire for your life, but you fear and resist my presence. There’s this notion in your head it’s impossible to carry out what I want for you. The result of questioning me causes feelings of unrest and uncertainty in your life.

In the depths of your heart, you believe I love you beyond measure, but you still have lingering questions and doubts of assurance. In the disappointments you encounter and the despair you feel, my prayer is that you would not despair of me. Open your heart and trust me.

You convince yourself you can direct the course of your life better than me, and the last thing you want is my input. You may not see it, but I’m working in the best way I can to provide you with everything you need. The biggest concerns and the situations which look impossible to you realize I’m always at work behind the scenes. Trust me that I am in charge of your life.

The most challenging issue is to let go of what your perception is about the world around you. You value your opinions and knowledge and think you know best what will make you happy. As long as you have all the answers to your problems, I can never really help you. As long as you’re in control, you will miss out on the blessing of my presence and wisdom in your life.

What I offer is not that everything will work out the way you plan, but when you trust me, I will give you the strength and the faith to overcome the struggles in your life. (Help with Discouragement and Disappointment) As long as you resist me and focus on this fallen world, you will suffer anxiety and little hope for the future. The pain of opposing my will is far higher than merely doing my will. Open your heart and trust me to let my presence fill your heart with peace and comfort for today. (Walk in My Presence)

Scripture:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 NIV
