I know some of you, at this moment at the center of your being, describe your feelings as heartstopping pain and inconsolable grief. You wonder if your life will ever be the same again, and you have the question: Is there hope beyond the grave? Others avoid thinking about death altogether, knowing their life will end one day the same way. (My Comfort)

Take comfort. I overcame the grave and defeated your arch-enemy’s death. I told you before I left that I was going away and promised that one day I would return to take you to be with me where I am. I prepared a heavenly room for you like no other room and dwelling place on earth. As beautiful as your room here might be, it is only a temporary one.

You experience life and death in the eternal now of My love. I want you to contemplate you are just moments behind your loved ones. As the sun goes down in the west and comes up in the east each morning, they have passed from your view, but they are still with you. Take a moment and look beyond the horizon, and you may get a glimpse of them in My presence.

My resurrection does little to help the feelings of your loss, but it provides the strength and the hope to endure it.

Scripture: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3 NIV
